Anyone can host a college kegger. It takes a creative mind and the help of few friends to throw a party that will have the whole campus talking. Make your next sorority party the talk of your college town by throwing a theme party where everything from the invitations to the decorations to the drinks works to create an exciting party environment for your guests.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Give an old favorite a new twist by hosting a Disco-ga party. Spin the hits of the 1970s disco era and invite your guests to dress in a Studio 54 version of the toga. Give out awards for the glitziest toga in the room or crown your own party god and goddess.

  2. Step 2

Have a hillbilly good time when you host a hoe-down. Guests should wear their best country duds like overalls and "Daisy Duke" shorts. Have a "hitchin' post" where couples can pose for pictures and serve drinks such as "moonshine cocktails" made with vodka, rum and berry juice.

  3. Step 3

Keep it simple and host a school pride party the night before the big Homecoming game. Deck out your sorority house in school colors and play your school's fight song to inspire your classmates to cheer for the home team the next day. Serve traditional college party fare like beer and pizza and make the spirit of the party the focus.

  4. Step 4

Invite couples to come dressed as their favorite Barbie and Ken for a totally plastic party. Put hot dance club favorites on your mp3 player and in true Barbie fashion, have a contest for who can balance on the highest heels.

  5. Step 5

Select a theme such as "Winter Wonderland" for a sophisticated formal event. Decorate the party with crystal-like twinkle lights and fake snow. You might even find a small sleigh to rent as the perfect backdrop for party photos of your guests. Serve warm drinks such as mulled wine and cider while your guests slow dance to wonderfully romantic tunes.

  6. Step 6

Stay on budget and select a theme that will allow you to recycle decorations from previous parties. You'll save some money and help the environment by reusing streamers and other paper decorations.

Tips & Warnings
  • Almost 500,000 students are injured each year as result of alcohol consumption, according to the Core Institute. Encourage your guests to drink responsibly and drive safely when they select a designated driver or provide them with taxi vouchers.
