A party is made or broken by the overall experience of its guests. You can help make your sorority party a success by planning activities that are just right for the party's theme. Designed to entertain, educate or give something back to the community, the activities you plan for your next sorority party can be an important part of your legacy.

Get Your Guests Involved With Fun Party Activities

Step1
Plan a Homecoming parade float-building party. With your float's plans already drawn up, host a party for members of your sorority, alumnae and other auxilary groups to help you and your sisters build the winning float. Provide clear instructions and leadership, along with refreshing drinks and snacks and you will be that much closer to having the most school spirit on campus.
Step2
Pick a local charity and enlist the support of your guests in fund raising for it. Using the draw of a great party with music and drinks, you can get more people involved in collecting money, goods or providing much needed service support for worthy causes in your community.
Step3
Invite alumnae to join you for a gift-wrapping party when you adopt a local children's charity or foster home for the holidays. After gathering donations of toys, clothing and school supplies, you can get cozy with your sisters and sorority alums and wrap gifts for these deserving children. Serve a warm holiday cocktail and provide hot and cold hors d'oeuvres while you bring a little joy into the lives of your college town's needy children.
Step4
Get in touch with community activists to participate in activities such as beach or park clean-up. Your sorority can host an afternoon picnic following a morning of collecting trash and making your community a more beautiful place.
Step5
Have some island fun even if you are landlocked by hosting a luau. You can plan party games such as doing the limbo and teach hula dancing for everyone's amusement while you sip on tropical cocktails. Enjoy island favorites such as skewered pineapple hors d'oeuvres or roasted pork, while you dance underneath the soft glow of tiki torches on a warm summer night.

Tips & Warnings

  • Talk to your college's student activities director before you make plans for a Homecoming float party or other activity centered around the school's athletic schedule. They may have specific guidelines regarding the size and nature of school spirit items such as floats and other decorations.
