The college experience should be about more than just studying. You and your sorority sisters need to cut loose every once in a while. Plan a sorority party worthy of the Greeks!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a theme for your next sorority bash. It can be anything from the all-time classic "toga" party to something more inventive like "Lost on Campus" where your guests come as their favorite celebrities stranded on a desert island.

  2. Step 2

Make a flyer with the details of the party. Depending on the theme, you should instruct your guests on what to wear or bring.

  3. Step 3

Do something good for your college town by asking your guests to bring canned goods to support a local or food pantry or toys for a holiday toy drive. Everyone will have a fabulous time at your well planned party, plus your sorority will win bonus points for looking out for your community.

  4. Step 4

Come up with a signature cocktail for the night. This should revolve around the party's theme but should be fairly simple to make. A punch that guests can help themselves to is probably ideal. If you can splurge for a bartender or get one of your sisters or pledges to play barkeep for the night, you will have a little more creative freedom in the kinds of cocktails you can serve.

  5. Step 5

Keep the menu simple. Let's be honest, most campus parties are not about the food but the drinks and the atmosphere. Make up a simple chips and dips table or have a barbecue if you plan on hosting a party during the late afternoon.

  6. Step 6

Decorate your house or wherever you host the party to complement your theme. Plan on enlisting the help of a few of your sorority sisters for the decorating committee and make a run to your local party supply store for balloons, twinkle lights and creative props.

  7. Step 7

Plan a playlist of the latest chart topping dance hits to keep the party moving. Make sure your audio equipment is up to the challenge before your guests arrive.

  8. Step 8

Hire a photographer to capture all your guests having the time of their lives!

Tips & Warnings
  • Nearly 1,400 college students die each year from causes related to alcohol consumption according to the Core Institute's recent study. Party safely by knowing your limit and providing your party goers with a safe ride home through a designated driver program or through an on-call taxi service.
