Step 1
Consider the ages of the guests that will be attending the slumber party and select the decorations accordingly. Older children, for instance, might really like decorations that relate to a celebrity theme, but appreciate cartoon characters geared for younger children less. Likewise, select more sophisticated decorations for an adult slumber party.
-
Step 2
Set your sail for a deserted island and have your guests embark on a treasure hunt. This idea lends itself to all kinds of fun and innovative decorations, such as a detailed map to the treasure and, of course, a treasure chest. You might even fill the treasure chest with chocolate candy coins to be shared with all the treasure hunters.
-
Step 3
Introduce some holiday cheer if your party ties into a holiday theme, such as Christmas or Thanksgiving. Your party decorations could include festive lights and trees or pumpkins (for carving) and pilgrim hats.
-
Step 4
Turn the serving table itself into a party decoration. Using printed bed sheets and pillows, make the table up to look just like a bed. Stick the napkins and eating utensils inside some fuzzy slippers (unworn) and you've really got something different.
-
Step 5
Rely on the classic party decorations--balloons. Using a helium pump, blow up as many balloons of different colors as you can and tie off the ends with colored ribbon. Separate them into groups of six to eight balloons each and tie the ribboned ends to objects that will help them stand securely upright from the floor, such as piece of candy wrapped in tissue paper or lace.

Step 6
Create your own slumber party kit at the Party in a Box Web site. These kits include everything you need for your slumber party, including invitations, supplies and decorations.
