When it comes to planning a slumber party, you don't want to run short on supplies. You'll need everything from decorations to party favors and supplies necessary to provide refreshments, not to mention keeping the house in order. Make sure your event goes smoothly when you learn how to select supplies for a slumber party.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit a party supply store outlet to look for supplies for your slumber party. You're likely to find coordinated party sets that include everything from banners to matching napkins and plates.

  2. Step 2

Look online for slumber party supplies, especially if you need supplies in bulk. Auction sites, such as eBay, often have sellers who specialize in this very thing.

  3. Step 3

Build your own slumber party kit according to the individual supplies you will need for your party, such as invitations, cutlery, banners, decorations and even coordinating thank you notes (in the event the slumber party celebrates a birthday for the host or hostess). You can select various supplies and build your Party-in-a-Box online.

  4. Step 4

Select party supplies that relate to the theme of your slumber party, if you have one. Matching plates, napkins, cups, banners and favors can complete the party experience, especially for children's themes like cowboys or fairies.

  5. Step 5

Remember to include some basic cleaning supplies on your list when you shop for your party. There's bound to be some cleanup afterward that will necessitate paper towels, spray cleaner and the like.

Tips & Warnings
  • Note that you will need an account to purchase party supplies via auction on eBay. However, if you don't have an account but know someone who does, they may be able to make the transaction for you.
  • If you order party supplies online (whether at auction or from a retail Web site), make sure to do so well in advance of the date of the party. Sellers on eBay have been known to be slow in shipping and shipments from online retail merchants have been known to get lost or delayed.
  • Always supervise children during a slumber party, albeit at a reasonable distance to offer privacy to the group.
  • Make sure you have parental contact information for children attending a slumber party in your home in the event a medical emergency arises.
