Learn How to Create a Playlist for a Slumber Party

  1. Step 1

Get the terminology down. A playlist is a menu of songs that you create and save to the library of your media player. For this illustration, we'll refer to Windows Media Player.

  2. Step 2

Open Windows Media Player and open the Library. Then click on the "List" button to view the playlist currently in use.

  3. Step 3

Clear the current playlist, if necessary, by clicking the List button once more. Then select "Clear List." You can also click and drag to move the playlist songs to another location.

  4. Step 4

Add a new album to your playlist from the Contents window by clicking the small plus sign next to "All Music." This action will expand the list. Repeat this procedure with the Album option to expand the album list.

  5. Step 5

Select an album you would like to add to your playlist by clicking and dragging its title from the Contents pane to the Now Playing List to add all of the songs from that album to your playlist.

  6. Step 6

Create a playlist for your slumber party by genre. If you and your slumber party guests enjoy a particular genre of music, you can save your playlist selections according to type, such as Easy Listening or Dance. To do this, save each entry and assign it to the appropriate genre from the Library controls.
