Things You'll Need:

  • Calculator

Fahrenheit to Celsius (Fahrenheit temp. = (9/5)*Celsius temp. +32):

  1. Step 1

Start with a specific Fahrenheit temperature that you want converted into degrees Celsius. For example, we’ll start with 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Step 2

Subtract 32 from the starting Fahrenheit temperature. In our example, 80-32 = 48.

  3. Step 3

Take that answer and multiply it by five. 48 * 5 = 240

  4. Step 4

Divide the result by nine for the final conversion. 240/9 = 26.7 degrees Celsius.

  5. Celsius to Fahrenheit (Celsius temp. = (5/9)*(Fahrenheit temp.-32):

  6. Step 1

Start with a specific Celsius temperature that you want converted into degrees Fahrenheit. Let’s use 50 degrees Celsius as the example.

  7. Step 2

Multiply the Celsius temperature by nine. 50*9 = 450

  8. Step 3

Divide that answer by five. In our example, 450/5 = 90.

  9. Step 4

Add 32 to that result to get the final conversion. 90+32 = 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
