How to Quickly Chill a Bottled Drink

  • Ice bucket
  • Ice
  • Water
  • Salt

Instructions

      Place the bottle in an ice bucket or any container that will also hold water. The bottle either can sit upright or lie flat.

      Add ice until the bottle is covered.

      Add water until it covers the ice. Stop before the ice begins to float.

      Add a quarter cup of salt to the ice water and gently stir the mixture either with a spoon, your hand or the bottle itself.

      Wait about ten minutes.

      Remove your beverage, dry the bottle off and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Using the saltwater method, it's possible to cool as many drinks as you wish. For large quantities, switch to rock salt, which is less expensive.

  • Don't handle salt with your bare hands. Salt can cause chemical burns on skin.
