How to Draw a Cartoon Alien
Not everyone can be an artist, but everyone can certainly write the alphabet. Sometimes that's all it takes. Drawing a cartoon alien is as easy as "X"s and "O"s, and a couple of "V"s. Perfect for doodling on homework, while taking notes in class or during a long meeting at work.
Instructions
-
Drawing the Body
-
1
Draw a 1 inch circle for your alien's head. Perfection is not important-he is from a different planet, after all. This is circle number 1.
-
2
Sketch another circle of the same size ½ an inch below the first. This will be his belly. This is circle number 2.
-
-
3
Depict two ovals below circle number 2 that meet at its center. Make them about 1 inch wide, but only ½ an inch tall.
-
4
Pencil in two small circles to the right and left of the figure, between the two 1 inch circles on a horizontal plane. These are circles number 3 and 4.
-
5
Draw three even smaller circles in a row on top of both circles 3 and 4. And, with that, your circles are done!
Drawing Your "V" and "U"
-
6
Start at the bottom left edge of circle number 1 and draw a large "V" that slightly overlaps circle number 2. This will be the alien's chin.
-
7
Connect circles 3 and 4 to the belly by drawing two upside down "V"s.
-
8
Pencil in a tiny "U" inside of the chin "V" and in between circles 1 and 2. This is his nose.
-
9
Draw two upside down slanted "U"s at the bottom inside of circle 1, starting from the edges and moving down and inward. Color them in, and your alien has eyes!
-
10
Sketch 3 flattened "U"s above the eyes on the alien's forehead. Aliens have wrinkly foreheads because their brains are so big.
-
11
Make 2 more flattened "U"s across the alien's belly circle. These should be about ¼ of an inch apart. This will be his belt.
Drawing your "I"
-
12
Draw a sideways "I" below the alien's nose to make his mouth.
-
13
Make four "I"s in the shape of a square in the middle of your alien's belt.
-
14
Erase any unnecessary lines, decorate at will, and you have yourself a cartoon alien. It may take a little practice, but you will be doodling this freehand in no time!
