Marriage is a huge step for everyone. Family and friends gather on this special day to wish you the best and celebrate this joyous day with you. Special seating should be considered for the parents at a wedding. After all, you would not be here if it was not for them. Honor them by giving them the best place in the house.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Divide the seating into two separate sections. One section should be for the bride’s family and the other section for the groom’s family. Be sure everything is as equal as possible for the two sections.
Step2
Reserve the front seating for parents. Place reserve cards on the desired seats. Parents should get the best view so that they can take plenty of pictures, or just be able to clearly see the looks on the faces of the bride and groom.
Step3
Consider the father, as he walks down the isle to give his daughter away. He should have easy access to his seat.
Step4
Seat them in a place where objects or people will not block their view. The front, close to the aisle, is great to get the full view.
Step5
Assign ushers to escort family and friends to their seats. Be sure the ushers know where the parents need to be seated, so that there is not any confusion at the last minute.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never be afraid to ask for help when seating your parents. This is an important time for both of you.
  • Seating places should be as comfortable as possible. Some weddings may take an hour or two so be sure guests are comfortable.
