Things You'll Need:
- Bridal bouquet
-
Step 1
Wait until after the cake cutting ceremony, to begin the bouquet toss. This is the traditional time to begin the toss. The reasoning being that at this point the marriage is completely official and over. The bouquet toss serves as the end of the traditional wedding ceremony.
-
Step 2
Gather the female guests together in a large group. The group should only consist of the unmarried females, as the purpose of the bouquet toss is to pass on the bride's luck to a person who will be the next bride.
-
Step 3
Position the bride a fair distance away from the single women. The distance should be just far enough, so that her ability to control who the bouquet goes to is severely compromised. Although it is natural for the bride to have someone they would like to see married next, it is traditionally determined by chance.
-
Step 4
Throw the bouquet over the brides shoulder with her back facing to the crowd. She doesn't need to throw it over any particular shoulder, so she may choose whichever one she prefers. Whoever catches the bouquet will traditionally be blessed with luck and get married next.
