Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Know what the bride and groom expect you to do, when and where. Most likely, they'll ask you to sit or stand by the guest book before the wedding and during the reception to make sure the book gets signed. Many guests will notice you and sign the book out of courtesy.
Step2
Greet each guest party with a friendly smile and an offer to sign the guest book. If they decline, suggest that they may do it later. Again, smile and make them feel welcome.
Step3
Accept the wedding gifts as guests enter if that is one of your duties. This will also give you an opening to offer the book to sign.
Step4
Circulate during the reception, offering the guest book to those who haven’t signed yet. You might sweeten the deal by offering to take pictures of the guests with their own cameras or disposable ones provided by the bride and groom.
Step5
Make sure that the bridal party and family members have the opportunity to sign the guest book. Find them during a break with book and pen in hand.
Step6
Address each guest on the way out the door and thank them for coming. Offer one more chance to sign the guest book to those who haven’t yet.
