How to Groom a Pet Wallaroo

Wallaroos are surprisingly clean animals with short fur and little odor. Their grooming needs are minimal, as they will do most of the work themselves. But you can definitely help them out a bit!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Allow your wallaroo to groom himself. Wallaroos have short fur that they naturally clean with their long nails. There is no need to trim your wallaroo's nails, as their length will help him groom himself.

  2. Step 2

Brush your wallaroo with a soft pet or horse brush. Though wallaroos do not need to be brushed, bottle-raised wallaroos will enjoy the contact and it provides good bonding time between you and your pet.

  3. Step 3

Bathe your pet wallaroo in a large tub if absolutely necessary. Generally, there is no need to bathe a wallaroo, but you can use warm water and mild soap if your wallaroo has gotten into something she shouldn't have. Be sure to keep the water and soap out of her ears and eyes, and keep her warm after the bath.

Tips & Warnings
  • Only bathe your wallaroo in warm weather to avoid chilling her.
  • If your wallaroo is not especially bonded to humans, just let her groom herself.
  • Do not declaw your wallaroo. Their long nails help them groom and declawing is a painful process for a wallaroo, as it is for any animal.
