How to Invite Friends to a Stag Party

So you're good buddy is finally tying the knot and you're in charge of inviting friends to his bachelor party. It can be quite a daunting task, especially if you're trying to plan his bachelor party from a distance. Here are a few tips on how to invite his friends.

1. Make a list. Take the time to sit down and make a list of every single person you think you should invite to your friend's bachelor party. Think of his family: brothers, cousins, uncles. Her family: brothers, uncles, cousins. (Her father? Could get touchy.) Then move onto to all of the friends in your inner circle. Also think about any business contacts he might have. At this point you should have a pretty well rounded list.

2. Plan the party. Before you invite everyone, plan the party, or at least enough of the details (like date, time and place) so that you can alert everyone well in advance.

3. Create an invitation. There are online websites such as Evite which are great for this. An email is also acceptable. Truthfully, very few guys want a paper invite. Save that for the wedding and the bride's bridal shower. Be sure to include RSVP information that is well in advance of the date. Especially if you need a firm head count. This will give you enough time to give the stragglers a kick in the butt.

4. Send the invitation. Compile everyone's contact info (which may take a little work) by calling family and friends and send out the invite.

5. Follow up. Don't just send the invite into outer space and wait until the day of the party to hope everyone shows. Send a reminder a few days before the party to make sure that everyone has the correct information. This will also allow you to reconfirm the head count.
