Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Contact past sources. Find out from upperclassmen or past social chairs where they’ve ordered from in the past. In addition to recommendations, they can also tell who to steer clear of. If your sorority has been ordering from a certain company for several years, you may be able to work out a loyalty discount. It never hurts to try!
Step2
Use the Internet. The Internet is one of the easiest and fastest ways to find party favors. Websites have tons of favor ideas that can be personalized with your sorority’s letters. Oriental Trading stocks thousands of trinkets and favors that can be purchased in bulk at very low cost.
Step3
Request a catalog. If time permits, have a catalog mailed to you so you can circle ideas and run them past other sorority members. The catalogs are also a great resource for future party ideas.
Step4
Order up! Now is not the time for procrastinating. Ordering favors will take time, so allow at least 2-3 weeks for shipping.
Step5
Running out of time? If budget or time constraints are tight, pick up some plastic cups at your local craft store and have a cup decorating party. Using paint pens, decorate the cups however you like. If you already know the names of the guests your members have invited and the party is small enough, consider personalizing the cups with each person’s name so they have something special waiting for them when they arrive at the party.
