Step 1
Do not attend a candle party in grubby or lounge clothing. While the atmosphere at the party will be relaxing and fun, you will not want to appear overly relaxed by showing up in pajama pants and an oversized shirt, unless of course it is a pajama themed candle party. Save this type of clothing for home.
-
Step 2
Do not dress in Sunday best. You will be overly dressed if you show up in your best dress or pant suit, heels and jewelry galore. There is a time and a place for fancy outfits; a candle party is not one of them.
-
Step 3
Wear comfortable, casual clothing. Wear pants or a skirt that you will feel comfortable sitting in and are easy to bend and move around in. Make sure that your waistband has enough room for a cookie and some punch!
-
Step 4
Prepare to take your shoes off. If your hostess has a no shoe rule in the house, you will want to have toes or socks that are pleasing to the eye. It is always a good idea to wear socks that are free from holes and have your toes manicured if you are barefooted.
-
Step 5
Have well manicured hands. You will come into contact with others hands as you hold candles and handle pens and paper. While a professional nail job is not necessary, nails should be clean. Have clean hands as well. If you have spent the day in the garden, use a scrub brush to remove all signs of a green thumb.

Step 6
Have fun and be relaxed. Dress as you would when going to hang out with friends. Do not over think this gathering. You will simply be smelling candles and chatting with girlfriends. Be comfortable and enjoy yourself.
