Things You'll Need:
- Scissors
- Containers
- Dry storage area
-
Step 1
Determine the amount of mint you need to harvest.
-
Step 2
Cut mint, using a pair of scissors. If possible, cut leaves from the top of the mint plant. This allows the plant to branch out and grow more leaves towards the bottom of the plant.
-
Step 3
Use the leaves of the mint plant fresh, or lay flat in a cool, dry place to dry out the leaves for future use. Harvested mint leaves may also be frozen whole in an airtight container.

on 10/2/2008 whitefawnf, how to harvest and clean mints: cut with scissors, then get 2 bowls, one with luke warm water with a splash of dish soap, not soapy. Add to bowl, then wait about 5 mints, this will kill any bugs, worms, etc. Then place into second bowl with Cold water, wait 10 minuts, then place on paper towels till not dripping, then get some sewing theard, and wrap around the stems, tye a knot, then hang up side down. takes about 4 days, then take apart then store for your meals or winter teas.
