Although Danish music dates back to 1300, Carl Nielsen (1865-1931) is considered the father of modern Danish music. In fact, Carl Nielsen's musical stature is so great that Danish composers are often classified as pre- or post-Carl Nielsen. Today, Danish music is made of many genres, including folk music, jazz, rock/pop, hip hop and classical.

Visit the Danish Music website. Here you'll find articles about Danish music published throughout the world as well as the latest information about all genres of Danish music. You'll also find listings for concerts and other events.
Step2
Find out what music is most popular in Denmark. Go to Allmusic.org and search for Danish music in the singles area for a list of the latest hits in Denmark.
Step3
Sample the music on an online music site. You can search by artist or song title and listen to part of the song before purchasing it.
Step4
Attend a concert in your country. When you find Danish music that you like, perform an Internet search and find out if what musicians will be playing in your area.
