Breaking into the human resources field can seem difficult for someone looking for a good paying entry-level position. If you have sent out dozens of resumes and cover letters and have yet to get an interview, it's time you get some help finding a human resources job.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Attend a college employment fair. This is a good place to network and find someone who can help you break into the human resources field. Most of the representatives that attend these events will be happy to give you advice on how to find HR jobs.
Step2
Seek out a human resources internship. Following the completion of the internship, your manager can give recommendations for finding a permanent position, possibly within the company.
Step3
Utilize a job placement service or staffing company. These agencies can help you find an ideal human resources position and usually do not charge any fees to the job seeker.
Step4
Search for human resources jobs online. There are hundreds of websites that can help you locate a job in your area. You can apply for the positions over the Internet and the sites are free to use. Online forums are also a great place to locate positions.
Step5
Meet other people in the HR field. Contacts are essential to finding a job in human resources. These contacts can let you know if they hear of an opening within a company.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don’t get discouraged if you can not find a job right away. Human resources is a competitive field and you may wish to get related job experience while you wait for an opening.
  • Don’t settle for a secretarial position in the HR field; hold out for a better opening in the company.
