Like most adults, fathers usually work hard, eat unhealthy food and exercise less than they should. A health club membership as a Father's Day gift is a great idea for the fitness challenged dad. With a little knowledge of what Dad likes to do physically, you can select the perfect fitness center that offers him the best workout.

Things You'll Need:

  • Checking account or credit card
  1. Step 1

Research your father's location to find all of the health clubs in his area. You can search the web for health clubs in his city or you can call his local Chamber of Commerce or Visitor's Bureau for this information.

  2. Step 2

Call each club or review the fitness center's website to see what programs, equipment, facilities and classes they offer. Don't forget to check their hours of operation. Find the clubs that offer what your father likes to do whether it be jogging, walking, racquetball or swimming.

  3. Step 3

Inquire about each club's membership fees, contract commitment and payment options. You will have to decide what is best for your budget. Just remember that a month to month contract might be easier on your pocketbook if Dad decides he does not want to continue his workouts!

  4. Step 4

Decide on a health club and then inquire if they can send the membership card and information to you. This way, you can gift wrap the Father's Day present yourself and give it to him personally. If you have to mail it to your dad, you can still personalize the gift with a nice card.
