Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paint
  • Stencil shapes
  • Storage bins
  • Lamps
  • Rug
  1. Step 1

Trace bold patterns on one wall as an accent wall. Use circular patterns, stripes or squares to create an interesting design concept. For those who are more artistic, draw a mural on the wall.

  2. Step 2

Keep the playroom fun and engaging, by painting your design with bright colors which will spark your child's imagination.

  3. Step 3

Paint the adjoining walls in colors that complement your accent wall. This will tie the design together.

  4. Step 4

Find accent pieces such as wall hangings, artwork, rugs and lamps that match your design in the playroom. You can even create your own artwork or have your children create pieces to hang on the wall. See Pottery Barn Kids website for more ideas.

  5. Step 5

Get colored storage bins to store your childrens' toys. The bins will provide a decorative element as well as great storage space. See The Container Store website for a selection of storage bins.
