A baby shower is a very special day indeed. A cute theme for a baby shower that will get everyone’s attention is ducks! Let this duck themed baby shower idea simply take over and have lots of fun creating a baby shower the new mother will never forget.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Rubber ducks
  • Child’s swimming pool
  • Prizes for the game
  • Duck themed favors
  • Duck themed invitations
  • Duck themed thank you cards
  1. Step 1

Consult with the mom to be about a guest list and decide on a date for the baby shower.

  2. Step 2

Set a location that is perfect for the shower and will comfortably fit the number of guests you have coming. An at home shower or a popular restaurant would be enjoyable.

  3. Step 3

Send out duck themed invitations. You can find many different invitations by doing an Internet search or make your own with a duck rubber stamp on blank invitations.

  4. Step 4

Decorate the room by having fun with the duck baby shower theme. Use blue tablecloths and put rubber ducks in shallow bowls at every table.

  5. Step 5

Play a duck themed game by filling a child’s plastic swimming pool with rubber ducks. On several ducks mark an “x” and those ducks selected are prize winners! Water in the pool is optional.

  6. Step 6

Have duck baby shower favors for everyone. Clear bars of soap with a miniature rubber duck inside could be a fun baby shower favor.

  7. Step 7

Send out thank you notes that complement the duck baby shower theme. Make them different from your invitations.

Tips & Warnings
  • A very silly game you can play is “Duck, Duck, Goose.” It can be great fun to play this childhood game as adults.
  • You can also float ducks in large wine goblets at each table for a more elegant look. Place candles all around each wine goblet.
  • Another centerpiece idea is a stuffed duck. Someone can take it home at the end of the party.
  • Rubber ducks now come in so many colors, you can probably find blue and pink rubber ducks if you search for them. These would be especially appropriate if you know the gender of the baby.
