If the bride and her friends are creative, a great idea for a bridal shower theme is crafts. There are so many different types of crafts projects, from jewelry making to pottery to card making. A crafts themed bridal shower will appeal to creative people, and others may enjoy seeing something besides just the bride's gifts.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Begin by creating a guest list and setting a date for the crafty bridal shower. Once this is done you can find a place to hold the shower.

  2. Step 2

Research places to hold the bridal shower. You may want to do the craft in one location and then have food and drinks in another location, or perhaps do all of it in someone's house.

  3. Step 3

Select a craft that will appeal to everyone coming to the shower. Keep in mind people's skill level and dexterity.

  4. Step 4

Provide enough supplies and tools for everyone to do the craft. Or if you are holding it at a store or at someone's studio, make sure that they have enough supplies for your group.

  5. Step 5

Arrange the logistics of present opening and determine the length of the shower. You may not have enough time for everyone to do the craft and open the presents.

  6. Step 6

Inform people that this will be a crafty bridal shower. If people should wear casual or messy clothing or an apron, be sure to let them know.

  7. Step 7

Demonstrate the craft to your guests so they know exactly how it is done. This will help any beginners in the group who may not be sure how the craft is put together.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep food and drinks away from crafts supplies.
  • You may have some guests who are unable to do the craft, or are not interested. Set up a table where people can simply socialize and visit while others are making the craft.
  • A great idea is to plan a crafty bridal shower to make your wedding favors. This can be fun, as long as it isn't too overwhelming.
  • Select a craft that stays within your budget. Crafts like jewelry making are beautiful, but can be expensive.
