Instructions

    • 1

Gather your business cards and contacts. Check everywhere you may have left them; in a desk, in the car, under your bed, even the bathroom!

    • 2

Purchase a three ring binder. The size of the binder depends on the number of business cards you possess. If you have tons of contacts, a two inch binder might be best. However, most people can get away with a one inch or one and a half inch binder.

    • 3

Buy transparent business card holder vinyl or plastic sleeves from your local supply store. Make sure they have holes for placement in a three-ring binder. You can also purchase these pages online at supply stores.

    • 4

Purchase insertable tabs for your binder. You can choose to categorize your business cards in whatever way works best for you. Alphabetical tabs are available, as well as multicolored tabs if you wanted to sort your business cards in another way. Be sure to keep one or two blank sleeves at the end of each category for future rearranging.

    • 5

Insert your business cards into the transparent card file sleeves. You may choose to designate one business card per slot or insert them back to back to utilize space. It is a little easier to access the cards if you put one in each slot.

    • 6

Label the cover of your binder with an appropriate title. 'Business Cards' or 'Contacts' are the obvious choices, but be as creative as you'd like.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check to make sure your binder sleeves are not wider than your binder. Occasionally, the sleeves stick out, making it difficult to store the binder on a shelf.

  • Keep extra transparent sleeves in the back of the binder. Your collection of business cards is always growing!

  • Organizing your business cards can get expensive. Three ring binders are pricey and the sleeves and tabs can add up in a hurry. Try thrift stores or consignment office supply stores for the best deals.
