Things You'll Need:
- Several firm pillows
- Humidifier
-
Step 1
Put several pillows behind his head to elevate it and prevent the blockage of his throat passageway. When the pillow is too low the tongue falls to the back of the throat limiting the air passageway.
-
Step 2
Use firm pillows and not the soft, fluffy kind. The throat relaxes and constricts the passageway if the pillow is too soft.
-
Step 3
Convince your spouse to lie on her side when she is sleeping instead of her back.
-
Step 4
Encourage, kindly, that your spouse lose weight. Join a weight loss program together. If a person is overweight there is an increase in the amount of fatty tissue in the throat which narrows the passageway.
-
Step 5
Steer clear of dairy products before going to bed. Dairy causes mucus buildup.
-
Step 6
Avoid alcohol and sleep aides. These substances relax the throat muscles, narrowing the passageways.
-
Step 7
Sleep with a humidifier. The steam decreases the amount of congestion and soothes the throat.

on 10/13/2009 i used to snore a lot before, but now i forgot all about it, simply i did the following:
1- before i go to bed i drink a glass of green tea with mint and honey.
2- sleep on the side, use a high firm pillow
3- doing some neck exersices at morning and evening, move my neck verticaly up to down, move it from left to right, move it clock wise and anticlock wise.
4- doing some verbal exercises such as saying:
"felix unger" from 10 to 20 times
"all oliver wanted to do was sing loudly uh-oh" from 10 to 20 times
"the lips, the teeth, the tip of the tongue" from 10 to 20 times.

on 7/11/2009 The simplest advice is Lose Weight.
Most snorers are obese. Do you snore? Are you fat? There's a clue there.
I snored so badly for years, my partner and I never slept together - even our honeymoon suite had seperate bedrooms.
I lost weight and now we sleep together all the time. (Now that we go to bed at the same time, I can't stay up late watching the TV anymore! There's always a downside. LOL)
It's a well documented fact that if your coolar size is above about 16"-17", you'll snore. Below that, you're snoring will disappear or be significantly reduced.
I lost 6 stone (84lbs) in total, but my snoring improved when I'd lost about three stone. If you lose enough weight to help reduce your snoring, there will be so many other benefits too. (I don't go to bed just to sleep anymore!)
