Making a purse can be fun and easy. There are numerous ways to make your purse. A little imagination and creativity will let you craft purses that are fun, unique and budget-friendly.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Make a juice-pouch purse. Collect seven empty juice pouches to make a small purse. Use more for a larger purse. Sew the empty juice pouches together with a sewing machine and use some fun ribbon to make a handle and embellishments.

  2. Step 2

Use magazine pages to make a purse. Carefully cut out magazine pages in a uniform size. You can make this purse as big or small as you like. Iron fusible webbing to the back of each magazine page. Leave a 1/2 inch of webbing on all sides of the page. Sew the pages together with a sewing machine, using the webbing as the seam allowance. Sew the bottom on. Put grommets on the top of the bag to use as holes for the handles. Use ribbon to make handles.

  3. Step 3

Recycle your old blue jeans and make a denim pocket purse. Cut out two pockets, leaving 1/2 inch of material around each pocket. Carefully cut the zipper out of the front of the pants. Sew the zipper to the top of each pocket piece, having the outside of the pockets and zipper facing outward. Open the zipper partially and flip the pockets inside out. Stitch the two pockets together. Flip the purse right-side-out. Add ribbon for a fun strap.

  4. Step 4

Use the fix-all duct tape to make a purse. Cut two pieces of cardboard the same size. Cover each piece completely with duct tape. Use more tape to construct the sides of the purse and tape the sides to the front. Make the bottom of the purse from more tape and also make a strap. Use a cute flower to embellish the purse.

  5. Step 5

Use a deck of cards and clear duct tape. Lay a row of five cards down on a table. Tape both sides of the cards with the tape. Repeat this six times. Lay three cards end to end down on the table and cover them with tape. Do this twice. Create the bottom of the purse and the strap in the same manner. Tape all of the pieces together using the duct tape. If you want to be fancy, cut the front and back into a fun shape before taping all of the pieces together.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a needle that you can throw away for the juice-pouch purse. It will get sticky.
  • Make a slit in the bottom of the juice pouches and rinse them with soapy water. Don't forget to let them dry!
  • Use caution when cutting cardboard with a box cutter.
