Mold can range from a small problem to a health hazard. You should take special precautions before attempting to kill mold. Just breathing in the mold particles can be harmful to your health. Use the following tips to kill mold in a safe, effective way.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Gloves
  • Face mask
  • Liquid soap
  • Water
  • Stiff brush
  • Vinegar
  • Spray bottle
  1. Step 1

    Put on protective gloves and a face mask.

  2. Step 2

    Spray the entire moldy area with soap and water.

  3. Step 3

    Scrub the area with a stiff brush.

  4. Step 4

    Respray the area with vinegar.

  5. Step 5

    Allow the area to dry completely.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wearing a face mask can prevent you from breathing in dangerous toxins sometimes found in mold.
  • Soap and water will clean most of the mold away. Spraying vinegar on the moldy area will kill any remaining mold.
