Things You'll Need:
- Foaming soap
- Disinfecting wipes
- Air freshener
-
Step 1
Keep freshly-scented foaming soaps on your sink for your child to use. Children love the foaming soaps, and the citrus scents available now leave a lasting fragrance in the room
-
Step 2
Store a container of disinfecting wipes in your child’s bathroom. After putting the kids in bed, a quick, daily wipe-down around the toilet, tub and sink reduces germs and that stale odor that can become overpowering without daily cleaning.
-
Step 3
Close shower curtains on a daily basis. Leaving shower curtains open will create a feeling of disorder and can cause mildew to grow on your liner.
-
Step 4
Remove hampers from your child’s bathroom. A warm, moist environment and a bin of dirty clothes do not make for a pleasant smell.
-
Step 5
Hang towels on a towel bar instead of a hook. It takes longer for towels to dry on hooks, and this can lead to mildew and odors.
-
Step 6
Use an air freshener on a window sill or shelf, or use a plug-in air freshener. This is a safer alternative to a scented candle for a child’s bathroom since there is no need for an open flame.
-
Step 7
Open the windows frequently, if possible, allowing the moisture to escape and the fresh air to work its magic. Opening windows frequently or using fans will circulate the air freshener’s scent and help reduce mildew by removing moisture from the room.
