How to Properly Use a Paintball Barrel Blocking Device

A barrel blocking device or BBD is an absolutely essential part of your paintball safety gear. The BBD is designed to stop a paintball from exiting a paintball gun when it is unsafe for that to happen. However, using a BBD improperly will render it worthless.

Things You'll Need:

• Paintball gun
• Barrel blocking device

1. Inspect your BBD. It should have reinforced stitching at the end of the bag. Also make sure the stitches are all in good condition. Be sure the elastic lines are in good condition as well.

2. Slide the barrel bag over the end of the barrel.

3. Wrap the elastic band around your paintball guns hopper.

4. Adjust the tightness if your device has this feature, be sure it is snug.

5. Remove the BBD only when you are getting ready to play a game or if the gun is degassed and emptied of all paintballs.

Tips & Warnings

• Not using a BBD is against the rules of all good commercial paintball fields as they are necessary for safety. Always use your BBD.
• Inspect your BBD regularly for wear. If it is worn, then replace it.
• Ensure the barrel blocking device fits snugly. If is does not, it could slip off.
• Squeegees, fingers and barrel plugs are not suitable safety devices to stop a paintball. Use a paintball barrel bag and only a paintball barrel bag.
