Adorning a bathroom can be difficult because of the limited amount of decorating choices. There are not many options for you to choose from, but a classic and easy style to pick is an aquatic-themed bathroom. This type of bathroom is particularly ideal for a shore or lake house.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Paint the walls a calming blue or green color. These sea inspired colors will complement the rest of the aquatic decor. A wall border with a water scene can be a nice touch as well.

  2. Step 2

Buy accessories that fit into your aquatic theme. Many retailers will sell sets that include soap dishes, shower curtains, lotion pumps and tissue holders. Buy a set that can be related to the water, whether it is seashells, fish or sailboats. Remember to also buy the matching waste basket and toothbrush holder.

  3. Step 3

Put down a nautical-themed bath mat. Find one that depicts a beach scene, a sailboat or a group of fish swimming under the sea.

  4. Step 4

Hang pictures that have aquatic-inspired depictions. A simple seascape can be a tasteful and classic choice. A sea-inspired light switch can also be a nice added touch.

  5. Step 5

Bring in part of the beach to finish your aquatic-themed bathroom. A jar of sand strategically placed can make the bathroom feel like a day at the beach. Seashells can also be placed around the bathroom.

Tips & Warnings
  • A rubber duck or fish bathroom set can fit into your aquatic-themed bathroom.
  • Don’t go overboard with the aquatic theme. Too many sea-inspired accessories will look tasteless.
