How to Become Involved in Church
To truly belong to a church, it is necessary to have a relationship to the rest of the church family. For some this is a difficult relationship to achieve, because they don't know how to introduce themselves into the congregational life. Becoming involved as a volunteer will enrich your faith and help you to develop friendships that are close and lasting.

1
Find out what projects call for volunteers in your church. Most churches hold a Volunteer Day or something similar once a year. There are tables set up for each service they are asking people to help out with--such as the prayer line, serving funeral dinners, helping with the church bazaar and many other works specific to the church you attend or where you are a member.
-
2
Decide which activity would best suit your talents and sign up for one or two. Most churches allow you to test out an area of interest to see if it will work for you.
-
-
3
Get to know the people you are working with and you may find out there are other opportunities for volunteering that you hadn't considered before. It's more fun to help out when you know others around you.
-
4
Attend church functions. Go to the dinners, join a bible study and go to hear speakers when they come to your church.
-
5
Watch the bulletin each week to see what is going on in your church. There is always something new going on and special needs to be met.
-
6
Be friendly. People will want you to join their committees.
