Remember to serve hot mulled wine in mugs instead of wine glasses, which could break with high temperatures.

A familiar Christmas drink that really spreads the warmth of the season, the basic ingredients of hot buttered rum are brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg and, of course, rum. Spice things up by throwing in a few cloves, or make the drink even richer by adding vanilla ice cream.

In stead of scrambling to find a bartender or worrying about who's going to be shaking and movin' at the bar all night, pick your cocktail menu then set up a self service cocktail bar so guests can mix, shake, pour, mingle on their own. I'm sure there will be a little one for you, two for me action, but it's the holidays right?!
