Plan Safe Transportation During Your Pub Crawl
-
1
Have the designated driver collect everyone's car keys at the beginning of the night. Leave it up to him to judge who is able to drive home and who is not. He should call cabs for anyone who needs to leave early, but cannot drive.
-
2
Make sure you have designated drivers available throughout the night. If you having a long crawl, choose drivers who stay sober for the first half of the night, but can drink later, and then have new designated drivers meet up with the group later.

3
Program the number for local cab companies into your cell phone, so you'll have them at your fingertips. Most likely, you will have one or two people who want to leave the pub crawl early. Offer to call them a cab so they can make it home safe.
-
4
Make sure everyone has directions to each bar before the night of the event. If people get separated, you don't want them hopping cabs with no idea where to go or walking down back alleys.
-
5
Plan a buddy system so everyone has someone watching over him during the crawl. Make it each person's duty to make sure his buddy has safe transportation to the next stop.
-
6
Consider hiring a party bus or car service for your pub crawl. Have people chip in before hand to ensure safe transportation is available. This can also add an extra bit of novelty to the night.
-
7
Make sure you plan for the transportation home for everyone. Try to make the last stop near public transportation. This works better in a city with a subway or train system.

Tips & Warnings
Choose bars that are close enough to walk between. Avoid making people drive between stops. You'll also be able to get more bars in this way.
Find a bar that serves food for the middle of your crawl. This gives people a chance to sober up a bit before finishing the night.
Try finding bars along one subway line if possible. That will keep everyone safe as they hop the train to each stop.
