1
Make a piggy by tying a ribbon around a pillow and drawing a piggy face with a marker or fabric paint. You can also use a pig stuffed animal for this game or substitute another stuffed animal that suits your party's theme.
-
2
Arrange the players in a circle, either facing each other or with their backs towards the center of the circle.
-
-
3
Give the piggy to the first player and start the music. The players must now pass the piggy to each other around the circle until the music stops.
-
4
Give a small prize to the person with the piggy at the end of the music. This person must say "oink oink" and leave the circle.
-
5
Continue the game until all players are eliminated except for one. The last player with the piggy is given the grand prize for having stayed in the game for so long.
-
6
Play a variation of this game by having the players pass the pig while blindfolded or with their eyes closed. When the music ends, they must remove their blindfolds or open their eyes to see who has the poor piggy in their hands.
-
7
Put a new spin on Poor Piggy by having the prize to be won passed around the circle. This is a great Christmas theme game for a gift exchange, especially if there is a gag gift theme. Here the person left with the piggy is really left with gag gift to take home.
-
8
Play poor piggy at a picnic by substituting the stuffed pig with a water-filled balloon. As the players pass the piggy around, they must try not to let it slip out of their hands and burst. If the piggy is dropped, the player responsible is eliminated without receiving a prize.

Tips & Warnings
Keep prizes simple and reserve the best prize for the last person with the piggy. Small tokens such as candy or small toys make great prizes for kid's birthday parties and you can even find them to suit most party themes.
