One of the highlights of any party is the food, and a lingerie party is no exception. Guests often talk about the food at a party long after the other party events have been forgotten. In fact, the refreshments you serve and their quality can make or break your lingerie party. Fortunately, it is simple to learn how to plan a menu for a lingerie party.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Glass or plastic bowls
  • Four to five bags of ice
  • Paper plates
  • Selection of chocolates
  • Two to three bottles of good wine
  • Wine glasses
  • Napkins
  • Plastic cups
  • Plastic forks and spoons

Plan a Scrumptious Menu for Your Lingerie Party

Step1
Decide on a budget in advance and stick to it. A lingerie party is an informal evening of fun, not a five course fancy dinner. You want to have good, crowd-pleasing food without going broke. Your food budget will depend on how many people you expect to attend, so wait until you've gotten RSVPs from everyone you invited before setting a budget for your menu.
Step2
Let the personalities of your guests help you determine your menu. Are most of your guests laid-back jeans and t-shirt kinds of girls? If so, a selection of chips, dip and buffalo wings might work just fine. If your guests are predominantly dress-up kind of people, you may consider going with finger sandwiches and a cheese and cracker plate.
Step3
Write up your menu and make a shopping list.
Step4
Buy pre-made items if they are available. This will save you time the day of the party. Pre-made items include things like fruit and vegetable platters, cheese platters and fried chicken wings that you can purchase from the deli at your local supermarket. Save even more time by calling ahead to place your order so it will be ready when you get to the store.
Step5
Look for generic brands and items on sale. This will help you save money and stay within your budget.
Step6
Splurge on a couple of good wines. This is one area where it doesn't pay to skimp. Your guests will be able to tell if you are serving them cheap wine. Since you will only be buying a couple of bottles, this expense needn't cause you to go over your budget.
Step7
Plan to have chocolate on hand! A lingerie party is for women, after all, and there are few things women love more than chocolate. Keep a few bowls of the chocolate of your choice on your refreshment table. Your guests are sure to keep coming back for more.

Tips & Warnings

  • Find out in advance if any of your guests have special dietary requirements. Your vegetarian friend is going to feel pretty left out if everything on your menu has meat in it. Your co-worker who is allergic to peanuts will not have a great time if you serve crustless peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. If any of your guests have special dietary requirements, make sure you include at least a few items on your menu that they can enjoy.
