Make your invitation a work of art in itself, just like your knitting. Pick a knitting party invitation that will be a fun craft activity and include things like a materials list, instructions for an easy to do knitting project or even a brief lesson in basic knitting stitches.

Things You’ll Need:

Make Crafty Knitting Party Invitations

Step1
Decide what information you would like to include in your invitation, besides basic party details such as date, time and place. You may wish to include a materials list of things guests should bring to complete a specified project or graphic instructions on how to knit so your guests can brush up on their handiwork before they arrive.
Step2
Use your computer's word processor to create a document with the party information formatted to fit on one or more pages. Be sure to remind your guests to bring their invitations with them if you are including details of a project to be completed during the party. You can change the size and shape of the final document to fit in a standard envelope or format it to create a square invitation.
Step3
Print off your invitations and cut them down to the appropriate size. Use your mailing envelope as your guide, as the finished invitation should be slightly smaller. You may want to include cutting lines in your document to make this a simpler process.
Step4
Cut some decorative wrapping or craft paper to be the cover for your invitation. These should be cut slightly larger than the printed information they will enclose.
Step5
Use your hole punch to punch holes in the invitation booklets along one edge. If you have created a folded edge with the cover, use this side as the binding edge.
Step6
Pick a fun yarn to bind the invitation booklets together. You should try to pick something that coordinates with the cover of the invitation or you could use leftover bits of yarn from other projects to create a rainbow effect.
Step7
Select coordinating envelopes to mail your invitations. Remember to double check the amount of postage required to send them--bulky or oversize invitations will require additional postage.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to go a more simple route, send an online invitation to your guests through a service such as Evite (see Resources below). A simple email invitation is another easy option for a casual and fun knitting party.
