Find a Power Wheels Battery Charger

  1. Step 1

Visit the Power Wheels website to find and purchase the appropriate charger for your Power Wheels vehicle (see Resources below). Do not select other brands of battery chargers for your Power Wheels battery, or attempt to use a different brand of battery in your Power Wheels toy.

  2. Step 2

Get instructions for your Power Wheels battery charger on the Mattel Consumer Relations website (see Resources below). You can also download lost instruction manuals for your Power Wheels toys on the Web site.

  3. Step 3

Shop at your local Toys "R" Us for Power Wheels accessories. Call ahead to make sure they have the battery charger you need in stock.

  4. Step 4

Find the Power Wheels battery charger you are looking for on eBay (see Resources below). Select a used or new battery from private sellers or authorized Power Wheels dealers.

  5. Use a Power Wheels Battery Charger

  6. Step 1

Select a Power Wheels 6V Charger for the smaller Power Wheels 6-volt batteries. Most of these chargers are red.

  7. Step 2

Buy the Power Wheels 12V Charger for Power Wheels toys wielding 12-volt rechargeable batteries.

  8. Step 3

Look for damage on your Power Wheels battery charger before plugging it in to the wall or the battery.

  9. Step 4

Plug the battery charger into the battery. Allow a new battery to charge for 18 hours before using it.

  10. Step 5

Charge your battery for no more than 30 hours. Overcharging the battery can lead to battery damage.

  11. Step 6

Unplug the Power Wheels batter charger from the wall after use.

Tips & Warnings
  • Select a Power Wheels Quick Charger for a faster battery charge. The Quick Charger comes with a built in ready light and makes batteries ready to use within hours.
  • Do not allow children to use a battery charger. The electricity from the charger and the acid from the battery are both dangerous for children.
