Bring plenty of cash. You are going to see an enormous amount of miniatures and craft supplies for building miniatures for sale at the show. You never know when you will find that one piece you never saw before but just have to have.

3
Take the time to enjoy the exhibits. A dollhouse miniature show isn't all about buying things. There will also be a lot of miniature displays for you to enjoy. Use them for inspiration for your own creations.
-
4
Attend an educational event. Some dollhouse miniature shows have short seminars scheduled throughout the day. These seminars usually focus on some aspect of building or collecting dollhouse miniatures. Make the most of your day at the show by attending one or two of these events if they are being offered.

5
Bring a friend. Attending a dollhouse miniature show is much more fun when you have someone to share it with you. Plus, a friend can be useful, in more ways than one. She can help you carry your purchases and talk you down when you are about to buy something way too expensive!

Tips & Warnings
Have a plan. The sheer number of vendors and exhibits at most dollhouse miniature shows can be overwhelming to a first-timer. Grab a program (and a map, if one is available) when you first walk in the door and spend a few minutes going over it. This will allow you to see at a glance what is there and decide what you definitely want to see, what you would like to see and what you can skip.
Wear comfortable shoes. You will be sorry if you don't. You are going to be doing a lot of walking at the show and will be on your feet for most of the day.

I had to laugh when you said "she can keep you from buying something", or words to the same affect. Yes, bring lots of money. Bring lots of memory also, as cameras as usually not allowed. I steal lots of ideas from the shows. Sorry, but true. I usually don't bring a friend, leave my checkbook at home and have a great time anyway.
