Select a ride on pool toy for children between 5 and 12 years old. Most of these toys are shaped like either jetskis or bumper boats, and they have a maximum weight allowance. Rarely do these toys exceed 2 mph in speed.

Tips & Warnings
Look for deals on all pool-related products towards the end of the summer when deep discounts go into effect.
Buy an extra set of rechargeable batteries for your toy if possible. Typical battery life for ride on motorized pool toys is around one hour, but it can take six to eight hours to recharge the batteries.
Keep a close eye on children when using motorized pool toys as hair can be pulled into the propeller assembly.
Children should wear a flotation device such as a life preserver when riding on a motorized pool toy at all times as these floats can tip over easily.
Don't take motorized pool toys and floats into open seas. The propeller mechanism is not powerful enough to use in open water and they are not designed for this purpose.
