Cee-lo is a simple game of dice played by two or more players. It's fun for a group at a party or for pairs at home. Use chips for bidding for added fun, although some play for small money bets. Cee-lo is similar to the Chinese dice game of Strung Flowers and is showing a rise in popularity among city teenagers.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Three six-sided dice
  • Chips or money
  • Two or more players

    Learn How to Play Cee-lo

  1. Step 1

Select a pair three six-sided dice to use for your game. Collect people to play Cee-lo with. You will need at least another person to play this game. Find dice and games on eBay (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Play a round of Cee-lo. Set an amount for a bet. This is determined by each player, who then puts his amount in the pile or pot.

  3. Step 3

Understand the objective of Cee-lo. You try and have the highest valued roll to win. The lowest possible roll is one, two, three. The highest is four, five, six. When you roll three of the same number it's called "rolling trips."

  4. Step 4

Take a turn rolling the dice. This is done one player at a time. A player rolls all three dice at once. They continue to roll until a certain combination (or number) is rolled.

  5. Step 5

Know the common combinations of numbers. The most common is two of the same number and a third different number. The value of the roll is the third different number.

  6. Step 6

Start a new round of the game if two or more players roll the same highest combination. Continue the rolling process with only those left in the game rolling. If you are the single winner in a round you get the chips in the pot.

  7. Step 7

Learn about "banking games" in Cee-lo. This is when one player takes the role of banker. He covers the bets of the other players. The others players challenge the banker. Like other card or dice games, a Cee-lo game with no bank has players vying for the pot of chips or coin amount.

Tips & Warnings
  • When "rolling trips" occurs, all the players must roll a higher number with trips or four, five, six to win.
