When writing a sales resume, you need to emphasize your sales achievements to prospective employers. Money is the bottom line and employers want to know if you are capable of producing profits.

        Start with a powerful introduction. After your basic contact information, which should include name, mailing address, telephone number and email address, the initial profile statement in a sales resume should summarize your sales career in a few powerful sentences.

        List previous employment. Like in most resumes, you need to make a list of previous employers and the position you held at each company. Under the company name and your title, briefly highlight your responsibilities.

        Add a bullet list. Underneath the responsibilities, create a bullet list of your sales achievements at that particular company. For example, if you increased sales in your division by 70% over the last year, you need to let the prospective employer know that. This is the place on the sales resume where you feature your track record.

        Mention sales awards and promotions. In the bulleted list, make mention of any monthly or annual sales awards you won. Also note if you were promoted or given any extra responsibilities due to your outstanding performance.

        List training or certifications. If you have taken any particular sales courses or received certifications, create an additional section to highlight you skills. You can also include any sales associations in which you are a member.
