How to Set a Romantic Table
A romantic table setting can create a perfect mood and inspire wonderful conversation. Set your table simply and elegantly to enhance the evening, not to dominate it. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Begin with simple, yet elegant decor in mind. Dig out that good china flatware you received as a wedding gift and choose a color palette.
-
2
Make or purchase a flower arrangement to suit your chosen color palette. Remember that you want to be able to have a stimulating conversation, so don't choose a large arrangement that will hinder your ability to stare into your partner's eyes.
-
-
3
Choose luxurious, layered table linens. They are as important as bed linens when you are trying to set a romantic mood. Find a table cloth, table runner and napkins to go with your color palette.
-
4
Set your table as a five-star restaurant would. Lay out separate salad and dinner forks, and separate soup and dessert spoons. Add chargers under your dinner plates and don't forget salad and bread plates.
-
5
Include candles on your table for optimum romance. Try using several votive candles or tea lights rather than two tall taper candles. This will keep your view of your partner open and create a romantic glow.
-
6
Use attractive serving dishes. Keep those pots and pans in the kitchen!
-
7
Welcome your partner by seating him or her and placing the napkin in his or her lap. Make it feel a romantic restaurant that is open just for the two of you.

Tips & Warnings
Soft color palettes are much more romantic than bold or loud colors. Try neutrals in several shades or muted jewel tones.
Lining up candles down the center of the table or arranging them in a center circle will give you drama and glow.
