Is your old mouse pad worn out and ugly? Or, are you looking for a fun project to do with the kids? Add a little cuteness to any desktop with this adorable computer buddy. This cheap and easy mouse pad is fun to make and quite a "quiet" companion.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sheet of purple craft foam
  • Purple, gray and black felt
  • Waxed paper (optional)
  • 9 by 12 inch piece of gray craft foam
  • Tacky glue
  • Yarn or ribbon
  1. Step 1

Cut the corners off of the ends of gray craft foam sheet to form into an oval shape.

  2. Step 2

Cut a rounded triangular shape out of the purple foam about a third of the size of the gray foam.

  3. Step 3

Glue the purple foam triangle on top of the gray foam as the mouse head.

  4. Step 4

Glue yarn to the end of the underside of the gray foam to form tail.

  5. Step 5

Cut 2 semi-circles out of gray felt for ears. Glue them just under the top edge of the purple face to form ears.

  6. Step 6

Glue 3 pieces of yarn as whiskers on each side of the pointy end of face and secure them with a small black felt circle to create the nose at the end of your mouse.

  7. Step 7

Glue 2 small black circles on for eyes.

Tips & Warnings
  • When done, cover your "mouse" with a piece of wax paper and set a large heavy book on top for about 2 hours. This will help the glue to create a strong bond.
  • Makes a cute gift for new office employee, or student going off to college.
  • Change felt and foam colors to represent favorite college or school team.
  • You may substitute ribbon for yarn.
