How to Be the Easter Bunny

Easter is the beginning of spring and provides a wonderful opportunity for family dinners, new dresses, and of course, Easter Egg Hunts. The Easter Bunny can make a memorable impact at your house with a little preparation.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Easter basket
• Candy
• Carrots
• Small treats
• Easter eggs

1. Fill several plastic Easter eggs with candy, treats, nutritious snacks, small toys or coins the day before Easter.

2. Assemble an Easter basket for each child filled with a chocolate bunny, extra Easter eggs, some small toys, Easter grass and topped with a big bow.

3. Choose a time to prepare the backyard when the children are not around. Prepare the area while they are still sleeping or distract them with a story or a big breakfast, if they are awake.

4. Hide the baskets in the search area behind a chair, under a bench or behind a tree but where it can easily be found since they need to find it first, in order to collect the eggs.

5. Hide the eggs in a variety of places. Make some hard to find and others easy to see.

6. Place a few pieces of chewed up carrots near the entrance of the search area so the kids can see the Easter Bunny has been there.

7. Announce to the children that you just saw the Easter Bunny hop away. Ask them to come out and look.

8. Leave the gate or door open so you can point out where you just saw the Easter Bunny.

Tips & Warnings

• If you have several ages of children represented, color code the eggs. Let the little ones find the blue and green eggs while the older children find the yellow and orange eggs.
• Count the number of eggs you started with so you can be sure they were all found during the hunt.
