Instructions
-
-
1
Cut a sheet of cardstock to 6 1/2 inch by 9 inches.
-
2
Fold the cardstock piece in half, like a card.
-
-
3
Glue a small loop of ribbon to the front of the card, overhanging on one side. This is the "handle" used to open and close the hidden door.
-
4
Attach a standard 4 inch by 6 inch photo on the front of the card. The photo should be center of the front of the card and cover all of the ribbon except what overhangs the card.
-
5
Cut a strip of paper 1 inch by 4 inches.
-
6
Fold the strip of paper into half.
-
7
Fold again, creating a strip of paper that has now been quartered.
-
8
Tape the two ends of the paper strip together, creating a paper "box."
-
9
Spread open the card you created previously and glue the "box" into the crease, attaching to the bottom of the card and the back of the card.
-
10
Open and close the card several times, making sure the box opens and flattens evenly.
-
11
Attach a die cut or small photo to the front of the "box", which is now what will pop-up when the card is opened.
-
12
Glue your pop-up card element to a scrapbook page.

Tips & Warnings
To encourage viewers to open the hidden pop-up, slit the page protector on three sides around the photo mat. Leave the tag "handle" out so viewers will know to lift the card front open.
