How to Make a Tear Drop With Paper Quilling
Paper filigree or paper quilling has been around for centuries. The simple shapes of loose coils, hearts, marquises, squares and scrolls have decorated everything from Bibles, cabinet doors, coat of arms, fireplace screens, baskets, tea caddies and furniture. Paper quilling is even mentioned in "Sense and Sensibility" by Jane Austen. The tear drop, or pear shape, is one of the basic shapes that can be used as flower petals, paired as hearts and as foundation pieces.

Tips & Warnings
Make the glued edge of the coil the point on the teardrop. It is easily concealed this way.
Either a needle quilling tool or a slotted quilling tool can be used. If you do not have the proper tools, a hat pin, a straightened paper clip or a sewing needle can be used.
Tear drops make perfect daisy petals. Create a circle of tear drops around a tight circle for a daisy quilling pattern.
