Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper shred
  • Masking tape
  • Pen
  • Scrapbook papers
  • Large bow
  • Small scrapbook album
  • Shrink wrap cellophane
  • Photo box
  • Scissors
  • Embellishments
  • Stickers
  • Adhesive
  1. Step 1

Purchase a decorated photo box. Remove the lid and place against the side of the box. Secure with lo-tack masking tape. This is the "basket" you will be using.

  2. Step 2

Fill the photo box with paper shred.

  3. Step 3

Gather basic scrapbooking supplies: a small scrapbook album, coordinating scrapbook papers and stickers, decorative scissors, adhesive, a few fun embellishments (like brads, eyelets, chipboard letters) and a pen. Choose your scrapbook papers based on your theme.

  4. Step 4

Place the larger scrapbook supplies in the photo box, with the largest items in back. Attach with masking tape, if necessary.

  5. Step 5

Arrange the smaller items in front. Keep some items in their packaging such as brads in a cute glass container but remove distracting packaging such as from the adhesive or scissors.

  6. Step 6

Secure the whole basket by wrapping in shrink-wrap cellophane. Follow the manufacturer's recommendation on shrinking the wrap.

  7. Step 7

Add a large bow to the outside of the package.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also create a themed scrapbook basket within a tote bag, paper organizer or mobile scrapbook tote.
  • There are scrapbook themes for any occasion. Baby papers and albums come in boy, girl or neutral patterns. A graduation theme could be done in school colors. There are even papers for hobbies, movie characters, locations, special events and most milestones.
  • Most scrapbooking supplies purchased in craft stores are labeled "acid-free" and "lignin-free." This means the pages will be safe from deterioration.
