Wire word titles are easy to make and can be a clever accent for a scrapbook page. Any word can be written in wire and accented with beads or sequins. Beads on random letters in the word can help ground the wire word onto the page.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Craft Pliers
  • Pen
  • Assorted Beads
  • 24 or 26 Gauge Wire
  • Wire Cutters
  • Thread
  • Paper
  • Needle
  1. Step 1

Write the word for your title in cursive on a blank sheet of paper. For this example, we will use the word "Wired." Make sure the title is as large as you want and the letters are spaced out evenly.

  2. Step 2

Cut a length of 24 or 26 gauge craft wire, using wire cutters. Cut the wire five to six times the length of the title.

  3. Step 3

Coil a tight small circle on the first part of the wire.

  4. Step 4

String several beads onto the wire, ending at the coil.

  5. Step 5

Coil the wire, following the template and starting at the beginning of the word to complete the letter "W."

  6. Step 6

Loop down to begin the "i" and curve into cursive "r."

  7. Step 7

String beads onto the left foot of the "r."

  8. Step 8

Add beads to the second loop of the "d" and finish your word.

  9. Step 9

Attach the beaded wire word to the scrapbook page using needle and thread.

  10. Step 10

Add a bead above the letter "i" to dot it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Experiment with different gauges of wire. A thicker wire is easier to work with and flows better but you want it to be pliable enough to bend easily.
  • You can also attach the word to the page by using clear drying glue.
  • It is best to write the word in wire quickly and then continue to smooth and angle the wire until it looks better.
