How to Make a Handmade Birth Announcement
You have just welcomed a new baby into the world. Now you can make a handmade birth announcement to declare the arrival of your beautiful child. Creating a custom and unique card is easy to do and will delight family and friends.

Choose a color scheme for your announcement. It does not need to be traditional pink or blue. Try lavender or deep purple.

Create the base of your card by folding a piece of colored cardstock in half. Make sure it fits in a standard size envelope.

Take a close up photo of your new baby. Choose a time when baby is fed, dry and awake. Take several photos to ensure a good photograph.

Print enough photos to make the number of announcements you need.

Attach your photo to the front of the card. Use photo corners or stickers to adorn the edges.

Print an insert card that lists the baby&s name, birth date, birth weight, length, and the names of the proud parents and/or siblings.

Adhere the insert inside the card.

Add decorative elements such as buttons, brads, eyelets, ribbon, ric-rack or stickers to the front and inside.
