Adventure Trips are vacations to exotic locales where you can experience a sense of adventure through safaris, water sports, hiking, horseback riding and other adventurous activities. Planning your adventure trip wisely will lead to an enjoyable, rewarding experience.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Adventure equipment
  • Appropriate clothing
  • Trip reservation
  • Internet access
  1. Step 1

Decide which adventure activities you would like to experience on your trip. Adventure trips can include basic activities from hiking and bicycling to more exotic activities such as scuba diving, river rafting, jungle and arctic adventures and more. Choose one or more types of activities for your trip.

  2. Step 2

Select a location for the adventure trip. Using the Internet, research which countries or cities are best for the type of activities that interest you. Take into account the seasonal weather in particular areas.

  3. Step 3

Research travel packages and book your adventure trip. Contact a travel agency in person or online and find the best deals for your adventure trip. Compare prices from several vendors, find out what is included in the package and book your trip.

  4. Step 4

Get your passport, traveling visa and vaccinations. If you do not have a passport or traveling visa and need one, apply well in advance of the adventure trip. Contact the U.S. Department of State for entry requirements for specific countries. Also, check with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to find out which types of vaccinations you may need before your trip.

  5. Step 5

Purchase adventure equipment for the trip, if necessary. Contact your travel agent or the adventure tour company to find out if you can rent equipment onsite rather than purchasing and bringing your own equipment.

  6. Step 6

Pack for the trip. In addition to appropriate clothing and equipment, make sure to pack medications, travel documents and other necessities for your trip. Have fun and enjoy your adventure.

Tips & Warnings
  • Listen carefully to all safety instructions from experts and guides on the trip.
  • Bring clothes that can be layered in case of changes in weather.
  • Do not book your reservation until you have read all the documentation and fine print.
